Working with Loupedeck

Even though it is very easy to understand what the buttons, dials, and scrolling wheels in Loupedeck do, here’s a checklist in case you want to confirm a function.







There may be some variations in the operations of Loupedeck between different editing softwares depending on the adjustments and functions they offer.

Rating / COL

Press the Rating/Color button to toggle between the star ratings and color labels.

The default filter mode is star ratings.

1 points (RED)
2 points (YELLOW)
3 points (GREEN)
4 points (BLUE)
5 points (PURPLE)

Press the button once to attach a rating or a color label to a photo. Press the button again to remove the rating or the color label.

Press Fn + any button to filter the Filmstrip to show only photos which have that specific rating or color label attached to them.

Arrows

Press the left or right arrow to move to the previous or next thumbnail in the Filmstrip.

Press the up arrow to move to the first thumbnail and the down arrow to move to the last thumbnail in the Library Filmstrip.

Press Fn + left or the right arrow key to select photos.

Press Fn + up to select all photos and Fn + down to deselect all photos.

Flagging

Pick and Reject flags are by default set to customizable keys.

Press C1 to assign a Pick flag – pressing C1 again will remove the Pick flag.

Press C2 to assign a Reject flag – pressing C2 again will remove the Reject flag.

Quick Collection

Controlling the Quick Collection is by default set to customizable keys.

Press C6 to add a current image to Quick Collection – press C6 again to remove the image from Quick Collection.

Press FN + C6 to show images on Quick Collection – press FN + C6 again to hide Quick Collection.

Temperature
Tint
Vibrance
Saturation

Turn the dial to set a value.

Press the dial to return to zero or to the camera’s “as shot” value (white balance, tint).

Turn the dial very quickly to move faster from end to end.

CLR/BW

Press the Clr/BW button to toggle between the color and black and white mode.

HUE, SAT, LUM

Press the Hue, Sat, or Lum buttons to activate Hue, Saturation or Luminance channels for more detailed
color management.

Eight color channel scrolling wheels

Use the scrolling wheels to set the desired values for separated color channels.

Press the scrolling wheel to return to zero.

Scroll the wheel very quickly to move faster from end to end.

Exposure
Highlights
Shadows
Whites
Blacks
Contrast
Clarity
(Dehaze is by default under D1)

D1–D2

D1 and D2 are your customizable dials. You can select a function using the Loupedeck configuration software. With the Fn button, you can select another function.

Press the dial to return to zero or to the camera’s “as shot” value (white balance, tint).

Turn the dial very quickly to move faster from end to end.

L1–L3

L1, L2 and L3 are your customizable buttons that are prioritized for activating local adjustment tools and
general functions by default. You can customize L-buttons to whatever you like.

Press the button once to activate the selected function.

By pressing Fn together with the customizable L-buttons you can activate another set of functions.

C1–C6

C1, C2, C3, C4, C5 and C6 are your customizable buttons.

Press the button once to activate the selected function.

By pressing Fn together with the customizable C-buttons you can activate another set of functions.

P1–P8

The P1–P8 buttons are configured with Lightroom presets.

Press the preset button to apply a filter to the selected photo(s).

Press Fn + any preset key to configure additional presets to the buttons. You can configure up to 16 presets
with the P1–P8 buttons and the Fn key.

Undo

Press Undo once to undo the previous value you edited or to go back to the previous state. Press Undo multiple times to remove multiple previous edits.

Press Fn + Undo to reset the photo.

Redo

Press Redo once to redo an edit after undo.

Copy

Select a photo that you have edited, and press Copy once to copy the adjustments (edits) of that photo to the clipboard.

Press Fn + Copy to make a virtual copy of your image.

Paste

Select a photo and press Paste once to paste the earlier copied adjustments to that photo. Press Fn + Paste
to paste the adjustments to all the photos that you have selected in the Filmstrip.

FN

Use the Fn key pressed down together with different buttons and dials to access extra functionalities.The Fn key opens a second layer of functions.

Before/After

Press Before/After once to view a photo before and after editing side by side. Press again to return to the edited photo.

Screen Mode

Use Screen Mode for activating Full Screen editing.

Export

Press Export once to open the export dialog.

Press Fn + Export to export a photo using Loupedeck’s own export preset designed for social media and web use.

You can also customize the export button with different export presets or functions to better fit your process.

Control Dial

The Control Dial can be used for controlling several different functions.

Library mode: Turn the dial left/right to go through your images. Use the Control Dial dial with Fn to go up and down in your image matrix.

Develop mode: Turn the dial for rotating the image. Press the dial to activate crop mode.

Crop mode: Turn the dial for rotating the image. Press the dial to apply changes.

Brush mode: Use the Control Dial to change the brush tip size.

Zooming in/out

Zoom is by default set to customizable keys.

Press C5 to zoom in. Press again to zoom out back to normal view.

Custom Mode

Press Custom Mode to assign customizable functions to the dials.

Set all the dials to activate other desired functions , such as Tone Curve or Split Toning.

Fn + Rating/Col

Press the FN + Rating/Col button to activate the keyboard modifier mode and change the behavior of the rating buttons. Use these keys alongside your mouse to access different software-specific functions.

Press the FN + Rating/Col button again to disable Keyboard Mode and converte the buttons back to rating/color buttons.

Rating/Col

Will be changed to ESC
